Life's Purpose

March 4th 2025

I believe that people are suffering today, like in any other era, due to entirely preventable reasons. And I believe that the vast majority of human beings have the power within themselves to take action and improve their life.

I do not believe that everything Aristotle wrote is right. Many things in his books I object to strongly.

But many more things have survived over 2000 years of scrutiny for good reason — because of their truth.

I see it as my life’s purpose: to help myself and to help others lead the most excellent life possible. This excellent life I think can be achieved even if you are extremely unlucky, troubled or carrying heavy burdens you don’t deserve. Like Aristotle, I think an excellent human life is achieved through daily activity towards becoming a courageous, kind, generous, honourable (and honest), knowledgeable, and goodness-oriented human being.

This is possible for everyone.

I took this photo in 2019 with conviction that my life's purpose must be intimately connected with philosophy.
